Human Resource Division Audit and Re-Design
Senior-level management of 1400 employee organization was experiencing less than stellar support from their Human Resource organization and wanted an unbiased perspective to evaluate. The audit included interviews with members of the staff, key stakeholders, Myers Briggs Step II evaluations and a benchmarking comparison of key indicators. This four-week project was focused on improving the performance and responsiveness of the HR department.

Results
- Added HR staff to address a 206-1 headcount ratio. The staff was over-worked and underrepresented due to company growth
- Sourced senior HR leader for company’s HR department to ensure sound insight and experience
- Initiated a new series of webinars to deliver training, which eliminated 5-7 overnight trips per quarter and a cost avoidance of $11,000.
- Developed a reporting mechanism to highlight key indicators of HR Performance and Company Culture. After one year, the results of this project include:
- A decrease in Voluntary Separation rate of 16%
(224 fewer employees left in year 1)
- A decrease in Involuntary Separation rate of 3.5%
(42 fewer employees terminated)
- A decrease in Poor Quality Hire Rate of 3%
(40 fewer employees left in the first 90 days of employment)
